A few weeks ago, I took a long weekend trip to the island of Vieques in Puerto Rico. The beautiful yet secluded island, which lies just a few miles outside the Puerto Rican mainland, provided me with a wealth of inspiration in a relatively short period of time! I stayed at the W Hotel, where the sand and surf (not to mention the spa) were the perfect remedy for the hustle and bustle of day-to-day life. However, since I love what I do so much, I can’t help but think of work, even when relaxing on a remote island! As it just so happened, a couple was getting married at the hotel that weekend, and the wedding arrangements were stunning. Inspired by the lovely waterfront venue, the programs for the procession, and the tropical-tinged table setting, I snapped a few shots of the setting. Although I have yet to work on a destination wedding on an island like Vieques, I think these pictures make it evident why I’d love to try my hand at it!

Wedding Inspiration: Ravello, Italy
Here is another wedding that I planned, for actress Beverley Mitchell and her husband, Michael Cameron; this time, the backdrop was provided by the positively stunning town of Ravello, Italy, situated right along the Amalfi Coast. More specifically, the wedding was held at the spectacular Hotel Villa Cimbrone. The luxury of being able to work in new and exciting places is one of the things that truly invigorates and inspires me. I get a real thrill out of accepting challenges and operating outside of my comfort zone, so I jumped at the opportunity to take this wedding across the Atlantic! The only word that sufficiently describes the experience? Bellissima!
Wedding Inspiration: Shannon and Richard
Here are some photos from a wedding that I planned for a couple named Shannon and Richard. The wedding took place on the rooftop at the prestigious and exclusive New York Athletic Club — an absolutely magnificent venue! For this wedding, I went with a color palette consisting of variegated shades of pinks, purples, and greens. Violet and lavender spheres of various sizes hung from the ceilings, and large spherical floral centerpieces were the focal point of each table. As a finishing touch, each place setting was adorned with a vibrant green flower.
Us Weekly Dream Wedding 2010
I have been so fortunate to work with so many wonderful people who happen to be in the spotlight; still, I relish the opportunity where I can give back and help those who don’t necessarily have the budget of an A-list star or athlete. So it was a no-brainer when I was approached by Us Weekly to help out for their Dream Wedding contest last fall. The winning couple, Pamela and Josh, were from a town just outside Boston, MA, and they beat out thousands of other couples to win the wedding of their dreams. They were married on Halloween weekend and the reception was held at the Boston Public Library. It was such a beautiful ceremony and celebration! The entire experience was a rewarding one, and I cherish the memory of working with everyone from Us Weekly and The Knot. As has become customary on this blog, I’d like to share a few of my own behind-the-scenes pictures from the wedding.
Also, here is a video of the couple on their special day, as taken by Edward Neary.
